Hi Riders,

After much internal discussion and even more research (and many conflicting weather reports), the difficult decision has been made to postpone the ride. With the Governor's declaration of state of emergency, we feel that it's appropriate not to provide more stress on the emergency services in our area, considering the possible high winds and cold rain. Ultimately, rider safety is of utmost importance to us when making these difficult decisions. We fully understand that the weather may turn out fine on Saturday but we have to decide for the traveling folks NOW on the info available.

I understand that not everyone will be happy with this decision- especially those of you who have already secured lodging and travel. For those Riders unable to attend on the new date, we will offer to roll over your entry to next year's event. Any riders who have purchased a t-shirt will have the option to have it shipped.

We are currently working to move our ride permits with VDOT and USFS, not to mention securing volunteers to allow us to conduct the ride next Saturday, October 8, while utilizing the same itinerary. When all details of a postponement plan are available you will notify ASAP by email.

Please accept my sincerest apologies but keep in mind I didn't order up the hurricane.

Thanks,

Jeremy Ramsey
